University Coordinator's Responsibilities

 
CAPS will designate an experiential learning coordinator, who will closely work with the host company during all the stages of the internship process from announcement to successful completion.
 
  • Promote the general concept of an Internship.
  • Assist and advise the host company in developing a structured program.
  • Provide support in generating internship descriptions and detailed selection criteria.
  • Assure that the internship position is an integral part of the academic program.
  • Announce the internship opportunity online for students and coordinate the application process.
  • Send the resumes to the employers ahead of time to select student interns for interviews. Ensure that the resumes meet the requirements of the internship opportunity.
  • Coordinate interview appointments and keep students informed of the progress of the selection process.
  • Assist and advise the students in the development of their learning agreement which summarizes specific objectives for the anticipated internship experience.
  • Conduct an exit interview with the intern to ascertain an overall analysis of the internship experience and its relevancy to the student’s career development.
  • Ensure that the host company and the intern have provided the required evaluations and feedback.
  • Handle any inquiries and/or concerns from the interns or supervisors.
  • Issue an Internship Certificate for each intern upon successful completion of the internship duration and send it to the host company for signature.
