Student Intern's Role

  • Complete all pre-internship arrangements in a timely and professional manner (application, interview and offer selection processes).
  • Accept and complete assignments and responsibilities.
    Consider him/her a co-worker with the corporate staff. Accept and abide by the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Plan thoroughly and in advance for all assignments, and be prepared for periodic intern/supervisor meetings.
  • Seek advice and consult with the supervisor when confronted with problems that s/he cannot satisfactorily solve alone.
  • Consult with the university’s experiential learning coordinator in case of any problem areas that are not resolved with the supervisor.
  • Understand that the internship is a learning experience and undertake all required tasks as agreed upon in the internship offer.
  • Accept the responsibility for (a) notifying the supervisor when absence from work is necessary, (b) appropriate dress for all assignments, and (c) personal behavior at work.
  • Be timely, punctual and efficient in all dealings.
  • Project a professional business behavior in all conduct with supervisor, co-workers and corporate constituents.
  • Coordinate with the relevant academic department - if the internship is part of the academic curriculum.
  • Meet with the supervisor for an exit interview at the end of the internship duration.
  • Complete an evaluation form providing feedback on his/her internship experience.
  • Attend the Certificate Distribution Ceremony held in the fall upon successful completion of the internship.
