Self discovery is a continuous
process. It is the first step for successful career planning;
it aims at helping you to gather information about yourself
in order to make informed career decisions. Your journey through
self-discovery involves identifying your values, skills, interests
and personality type.
Skills
and Values
Skills and Values are two main components of the self-assessment
process. Whether you are a fresh graduate or an experienced
alumni this workshop is essential for you in your career planning/development
process; it will help you identify and prioritize your career
values and motivated skills.
Refer to careerweb
event section for “Career Planning - Skills and Values”
workshop date and registration. For first time users, please
note that if your profile section is not complete, your registration
will not be processed.
Interests
To explore you interests, CAPS uses the Strong
Interest Inventory® (SII). If you are trying to choose
a university major or plan a career, the Strong Interest Inventory
can be helpful in your academic and career planning. This
assessment measures your level of interest in occupational
areas, work and leisure activities, university subjects, kinds
of people and in various learning and work environments.
Personality
To get to know your personality type and identify the type
of work that matches your personality preferences, CAPS uses
the Myers Briggs Type
Indicator® (MBTI). The MBTI will help you identify
your strengths and unique gifts. The MBTI is used in self-development,
career development and exploration.
